Terms of Service

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Welcome to BraidSquad (braidsquad.com). By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. They are written to be read, not just clicked past – but they are still terms, so the important parts are spelled out. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What BraidSquad Is

BraidSquad is two things in one place:

  • A directory of braiding businesses across North NJ and NYC, where clients can search listings, read reviews, claim and manage business listings, and post “Style Wanted” ads.
  • A marketplace where independent vendors operate their own stores and sell products, principally braiding hair and related accessories.

BraidSquad is not the service provider for braiding services. Braiding appointments are agreements between the client and the braider or shop. BraidSquad does not perform braiding services, does not employ the listed braiders, and does not guarantee any braider’s work, availability, pricing, or conduct.

BraidSquad is not the seller of vendor products. Products sold through vendor stores are sold by the vendor, not by BraidSquad. The vendor is responsible for its products, descriptions, pricing, shipping, and returns.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
  • You must be legally able to enter into contracts to buy or sell through the site.
  • BraidSquad may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. User Content and Photos

  • You may post content on BraidSquad, including listing information, reviews, messages, wanted ads, and photos.
  • You must own the content you post, or have the right to post it. In particular, only upload photos you took, own, or have permission to use. Do not upload another person’s or business’s photos as your own.
  • By posting content, you grant BraidSquad a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the site (for example, showing your listing photos on listing pages, category pages, and the homepage). You keep ownership of your content.
  • You are responsible for the content you post. Do not post content that is false, misleading, infringing, or unlawful.
  • Reviews must reflect your genuine experience.

4. Listings and Claims

  • Directory listings may be created by BraidSquad from publicly available information, or submitted by users. Listing information from public sources is not verified by BraidSquad unless and until the business claims the listing.
  • A business owner (or their authorized representative) may claim a listing for free. By claiming, you confirm you are authorized to represent that business.
  • Claimed listings must be kept accurate: business name, address, phone, hours, services, and photos must reflect the actual business.
  • Claiming a listing that is not yours, or misrepresenting your affiliation with a business, is prohibited.
  • New user-submitted listings are held for admin approval before going live. Approval is at BraidSquad’s discretion.
  • BraidSquad may correct, decline, or remove listings that are inaccurate, duplicated, closed, or in violation of these terms.

5. Style Wanted Ads

  • Clients may post Style Wanted ads describing a style they want, with an inspiration photo, area, and similar details. Posters must own or have the right to use any photo they upload.
  • Wanted ads must describe a genuine request for braiding services. No advertising of unrelated goods or services.
  • Braiders respond to wanted ads by messaging the poster through the site. Any appointment that follows is an agreement between the client and the braider, not with BraidSquad.
  • Wanted ads are held for admin approval before going live and may be removed at BraidSquad’s discretion.

6. Featured Packages

BraidSquad offers optional paid listing packages, including Featured Monthly ($25, featured for 30 days) and Featured Yearly ($250, featured for 365 days), sold at braidsquad.com/pricing-tables/. Each package applies to 1 listing and provides a featured badge and priority placement for the stated period.

  • Packages are one-time purchases. They are not subscriptions and do not auto-renew. When the period ends, featured placement ends unless a new package is purchased.
  • Featured placement improves position and visibility; it does not guarantee any particular number of views, messages, bookings, or sales.
  • Package fees are earned when the featured period begins. Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, package purchases are non-refundable once the featured period has started.

7. Marketplace Transactions

  • Vendor stores are operated by independent vendors through the Dokan marketplace system on BraidSquad. Vendor registration is subject to manual approval by BraidSquad before a vendor may sell.
  • The vendor is the seller of record for products in its store and is responsible for: product accuracy (type, color, length, quantity), pricing, inventory, order fulfillment, shipping within 3 business days, customer service, and returns for its products.
  • Commission: BraidSquad charges vendors a commission of 10% of each completed sale, deducted from the vendor’s earnings.
  • Payouts: vendor earnings become payable once the vendor’s balance reaches $25, and are paid via PayPal or bank transfer. Vendors must provide accurate payout details; BraidSquad is not responsible for payouts delayed by incorrect vendor-provided information.
  • Buyers agree to provide accurate shipping information and to pay for orders they place. A buyer’s contract for a product is with the vendor; BraidSquad provides the marketplace and payment infrastructure only.
  • Vendors must comply with the Vendor Terms at braidsquad.com/vendor-terms/, which form part of these terms for vendors. In the event of a conflict between a general provision of these Terms and the Vendor Terms regarding selling, the Vendor Terms govern the selling activity.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings, ads, reviews, or products
  • Sell or list counterfeit, infringing, or misbranded products
  • Upload content or photos you do not own or have the right to use
  • Impersonate a business or person, or claim a listing that is not yours
  • Harass, threaten, or spam other users, including through site messaging
  • Use the site or its data for scraping, bulk solicitation, or competing-directory harvesting without permission
  • Attempt to circumvent marketplace commissions or site security
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose

9. Content Removal and Enforcement

BraidSquad may, at its discretion and without prior notice, remove or edit any listing, ad, review, product, or other content, and may suspend or terminate any account, where content or conduct violates these terms or harms the site, its users, or third parties. We may, but are not obligated to, give notice or an opportunity to correct.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • The site, listings, and marketplace are provided “as is.” BraidSquad does not warrant the accuracy of listings, the quality of braiding services, or the quality or safety of vendor products.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, BraidSquad’s liability arising from use of the site is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to BraidSquad in the 12 months before the claim or (b) $100. (For most users, that is $0.)
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Changes to These Terms

BraidSquad may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues in effect.
  • Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
